Named for its long, slender leaves that cascade from the top of the trunk, the Ponytail Palm is not actually a palm but rather a succulent plant which stores water in its bulbous trunk. Native to arid habitats, this slow-grower does best when you allow its soil to dry completely between waterings and prefers bright indirect light. While this unique specimen is best showcased in a taller container as a statement plant, smaller versions of the Ponytail Palm can make an excellent desktop plant as well.
